So yesterday was day one again and I feel that it went pretty well. I weighed in yesterday morning as promised and this was the result from my Withings
What I was expecting if I’m honest with myself. My lowest weight is 235 and I’m hoping to be there again before the 10k on the 8th July.
So I started my day by getting up earlier than usual and deciding with the little one to scoot to school. Or he scooted and I walked with him, we usually hop in the car at the last minute and arrive in a rush but getting up that bit earlier, leaving the house earlier meant we enjoyed the sunshine, if not the fresh air – we have to walk along a main road. He was very keen to scoot home so up I pottered at 250 and picked him up. I deliberately left it late to leave the house (he gets out of school after 3) to ensure I had to keep a decent pace up to the school.

I set runkeeper going on the way home and it’s given me a rough idea of the distance I’ll be covering 4 times a day if the weather holds.
I’m still painting the garden, we have a lot of wood out there and a lot of it needs hand painting, so I’m busy busy. It’s surprisingly hard work hand painting the fences, they are big and wide and I have to stretch and squat a lot to get them done, I’m pretty sure this should help with the weight loss efforts. I hope so! It took several hours just to do these two fence panels and I have LOTS more to go. There is a lot of layers of wood in my garden and it’s got a raised area (where these pictures were taken) which has wooden slats supporting it and the lower grassy area where there are fences the same size as the below all the way around. I’ve got around 8 of these to go!
I feel that with these weigh ins I need to keep pushing my inspiration and motivation so I’ll be posting an inspirational picture daily too.

You have been super busy and your garden is going to look fabulous when it’s finished. All you need is some sunshine to enjoy it!
Love your trick of leaving the house slightly later so you have to walk faster – I’m definitely going to try that for cycling to work.
I’m also on a daily weighing streak at the moment. It’s the only way I can micromanage my eating and get back on track. Good luck for hitting your goal by July 8th:)
Well, now you know where you’re at. That’s step one. Losing six pounds by your 10k? Very achievable. And painting will help – the fence is looking great!
